01 General Information
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Pocket Orrery (hereinafter referred to as the "App") handles information when you use it.
Pocket Orrery is an interactive astronomical instrument for simulating idealized orbits around a central star. Users can modify orbital parameters, observe the motion of test bodies, explore educational presets, and export simulation results.
The App is designed with a data-minimization approach: it does not collect, transmit, or store users' personal information on external servers.
02 Information We Collect
Pocket Orrery does not collect users' personal data. The App does not provide user profile creation or mechanisms for transmitting information to the developer.
The App does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers;
- Precise location or geolocation data;
- Contacts, photographs, or personal files;
- Device identifiers for user tracking;
- Usage history, behavioral analytics, or advertising data;
- Any other personal information.
You do not need to register, sign in, create an account, or provide personal information to use the App.
03 Local Data Storage
To provide its functionality, the App stores certain technical information locally on your device.
This information may include:
- Orbital elements and parameters of test bodies;
- Current simulation phases and states;
- Central star parameters;
- Interface preferences and user settings;
- Music and sound effect volume settings, as well as other interaction preferences.
This information is stored locally on your device and is used exclusively to provide Pocket Orrery's functionality. It is not transmitted to the developer or any external server.
04 File Exports
Pocket Orrery allows you to export simulation results in CSV and SVG formats.
- CSV: 121 computed samples covering one complete orbit of the selected body.
- SVG: Projected conic orbital paths saved as a standalone graphic file.
Exports are initiated by the user through the standard Android system Document Picker. You choose where the exported file is saved.
The App does not upload exported files to its own servers or access them after they have been saved. If you choose a third-party or cloud service as the storage destination, the subsequent handling of the file is governed by that service's own privacy policy.
05 Data Transmission and Network Access
Pocket Orrery does not transmit user data over the internet. The App does not require network access permission to perform its core functions.
The App does not include user accounts, cloud synchronization, server-side processing of user data, or other features that involve transmitting information to the developer.
06 Third-Party Services, SDKs, and Advertising
Pocket Orrery does not integrate third-party SDKs, advertising networks, analytics platforms, or user-tracking tools.
The App contains no advertisements, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not share information with advertisers or third-party analytics companies.
Interaction with the Android system Document Picker for saving exported files takes place through the user's device.
07 Device Permissions
The core functionality of Pocket Orrery does not require user accounts, access to contacts, location data, or other permissions intended to collect personal information.
To save exported files, the App uses Android's system file-selection mechanism. Access to the selected destination is granted within the scope of the action initiated by the user.
08 Data Retention and Deletion
Simulation data and preferences remain in the App's local storage on your device.
You can delete Pocket Orrery's locally stored data by clearing the App's data through Android settings or uninstalling the App from your device.
CSV and SVG files that you have saved through the system file picker must be deleted separately from their respective storage locations.
09 Information Security
Since Pocket Orrery does not collect or transmit personal data to external servers, the App does not maintain its own centralized database of users' personal information.
Local data is stored on your device. Its protection also depends on your device's security settings, operating system, and any security measures applied by the device owner.
10 Age Restrictions
Pocket Orrery is intended for users aged 18 and older. The App has an educational and scientific nature and does not contain prohibited content.
The App is not intended for children under the age of 18 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11 Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example, if the App's functionality changes or applicable legal requirements are updated.
The latest version of this Policy will be available on this page. The date of the most recent update will be displayed at the beginning of the document.
